Shoot, if you asked me before the game, “How is Francisco Liriano going to do today,” I’d tell ya’ he’d strikeout 12. And I would have been wrong. Liriano doesn’t quite have the control nor the velocity of the Liriano we knew in 2006.
But breeeeaaaaathe. Tell yourself, it’s ok.
Hell, if his fastball ain’t past 90mph next start, tell yourself that’s OK too. But on the third start, as the Holy Goodness is my witness, he better pass 90.
Twins do, however, win the series. And honestly, that’s all I can ask.
Tigers update: Still suck. Willis is hurt; Cabrera is fat. Awesome.

Screw Directv and their MLB package.
I had to listen to the game on the (internet) radio. Jesus, people… it’s the 21st century.
If you haven’t sought out Carlos Gomez’ catch, you shall do so now.
Kubal had a nice jack. I predicted he was going to hit 20 last year. I was way off. I’m hesitant whether to attempt that prediction again…. hell, let’s do it: Kubal hits 20 this season, boy and girls.
An aside: Tigers are suckin’ it up. Awesome.

Brandt: “Put the weight back on, Boof!”
Well, we’ll give him a few more starts before we fattening him up again. Bonser showed some stuff, but wasn’t exactly sharp.
Concerns?
- Twins showing zero power.
- middle infield a bit sloppy. We’ll give it some time.
- Rincon pitched. Sorry, no faith in Juan. That probably won’t be changing.

I’m not going to get overly excited, but the cockles of my heart were marginally warmed by certain events in the Twins Opening Day win over the Angels:
- Livan Hernandez didn’t suck.
- Carlos Gomez has the makings of an electric player. He very well may be to baseball what Jesus is to bowling. You (possibly) simply can’t contain him.
- That’s a nice bullpen.
- They won.
And a few concerns, of course. Again, this is the first game, but let’s hope these won’t be themes for the entire season:
- Nick Punto entered game.
- Joe Mauer hittin’ singles (still).
- Scouts right: Delmon Young has no plate discipline.
That’s all for now kids.
